JETAABC Japanese Language Classes: Winter Term ’22 Now Open!

We are happy to announce that registration for JETAABC Japanese Language Classes for the Winter term is now open! We will be holding this term online over Zoom. Classes will start on January 13, 2021 from 6pm to 8pm PST every Thursdays until March 17, 2021.

Virtual Classroom:

The classes will be done online through Zoom and will utilize all available functions (i.e.polling, whiteboard, breakout rooms, etc) to maximize engagement and interaction between students and the teacher. For optimal language learning in the […]

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and in particular the highly transmissible Omicron variant, the JETAABC Board of Directors is announcing that the upcoming AGM will be held 100% virtually on Zoom this year. The health and safety of our members and event participants are our top priority, and in order to mitigate any chance of transmission, the in-person option to attend the AGM is no longer available. 2022 Metro Vancouver Japan Bowl

JETAABC is excited to invite high school students learning Japanese to participate in the Metro Vancouver Japan Bowl. The Japan Bowl® is a Japanese language and culture competition for high school students who are studying Japanese. The Japan-America Society of Washington DC organized and hosted the first Japan Bowl in 1992. What is “imoni-kai” you ask? Think of it like a fall version of “o-hanami”; an outdoor gathering where you share hot “imoni” taro soup and enjoy the colours of the season.

Join us at Central Park (Burnaby) on Sunday, October 24th from 11:30am-2:00pm for family-friendly activities, games, music, and experience a Tohoku culinary tradition!

The 2021/22 Alumni Mentor Programme is a private list of JET alumni in BC who can provide insight into the current job market in their industry, give guidance to new/”old” returnees in their career transition, and maybe even speak on a JETAABC Careers Panel.
