Here’s a look back at our Sunday, October 16th Imoni-Kai. This is our annual outdoor tradition where we cook and enjoy traditional taro root stew from Yamagata which is enjoyed all over the Tohoku region of Japan. We were grateful to have unseasonably sunny weather, delicious stew and snacks, acoustic music, and good company!
UPDATE! The Consulate General of Japan in Vancouver is currently recruiting for the 2023 JET Programme, and we are looking for JET alumni volunteers to help out with a virtual and in-person career fair and information sessions.

What a perfect sunny Sunday to gather for our JETAABC Sports Day!
On August 28th, we had a blast with all sorts of activities, including the classic Rajio Taiso Daiichi, tug of war, wrestling, relays and human wheelbarrow races. There were a mix of participants including JET alumni, their families, and friends from the wider Japanese-Canadian community. Thanks again to the organizers and everyone who came out!

Please sign up for a shift or two and be part of this unique celebration on September 3 & 4, 2022.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first origami workshop. It was a cloudy day out so it ended up being a great day to do some indoor origami. With a small group of 6 attendees, everyone sat in a circle around the tables as each individual introduced themselves to get to know each other.
To break the ice, we started by sharing our interest and stories around origami. Our board member, Karmila, then proceeded to lead the group […]
